A police Inspector is under investigation after a constable alleged that the senior officer assaulted him and burst his head.
Constable Marko Hinds alleges that the Inspector - who commands a specialized unit - pulled up at a police checkpoint in the city, and the constable did not salute him.
That and the constable's informal tone in addressing the senior officer seems to have incensed the Inspector - and it is alleged that he slammed the constable into the police mobile and burst his head.
It's a report that is being watched closely because the Inspector in question is known to be a close ally of the New Commissioner - and was put in charge of the specialized unit as soon as Williams became Commissioner.
Today the Commissioner told us it is under investigation and will proceed form there:..

"Are you prepared to make any comment or to discuss the topic of the officer from Hattieville who wants to press criminal charges against his superior for what he says was an assault in Hattieville?"

"That matter has been referred to a senior officer to investigate and when that investigation is done, it will be submitted and whatever action the complainant desire will be taken."
Those close to the constable have told us he is determined to press charges for assault.
