posted (February 14, 2019)
Tonight, 41 year-old Mark Anthony Clarke, a resident of Fredrick's Alley in Belize City, is recovering from gunshot injuries he suffered last night in an attempt on his life.

We told you about it at the end of news last night: At around 7:20 p.m., he was standing in front of Two Star Shop on New Road - which is not far from his home. That's when a vehicle drove up, and a gunman jumped out and went after him:

ASP Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
"Last night, just after 7:30, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where they observed Mr Mark Anthony Clarke, a 41 year-old Belizean from Frederick Alley. He was seen with apparent gunshot wounds to the body. What police gathered so far is that Mr Clarke was standing in front of 2-Star Store, located on New Road, along with other persons, when a vehicle just stopped a little distance from the shop, and a male person exited from the backdoor, and ran straight to him and fired several shots at him, causing the injuries to him. He has been admitted, and is in a stable condition at the hospital at this moment."

Police are waiting for an opportunity to interview the victim about the shooting.
