FFB Reboots Public Image

It's been about 14 months now that Sergio Chuc, and his executive at the Football Federation of Belize has been running the sport in Belize. During that time, we've not heard of a single bit of the strife and controversy that used to plague the FFB under the previous two presidents

Chuc and his executive say that erasing the negative public image that the FFB has been tainted with is only incidental - what they want is to see football in Belize improve from the grassroots to the semi-pro level, to the National Team level.

This afternoon, they called the media to a roundtable session to find out how to improve relations, to better inform and engage the wider community.

It was a 3-hour sit-down, in which they unveiled their new management structure and style, which we'll show you in the weeks to come. One important bit of news coming out of these talks today is that FIFA, the world's governing body of football, has decided to roll out its new Forward program, which has evolved in the past 3 years. Under the program, Belize, like all other member states will get access to 12 million dollars in funds, over the course of the next 3 years, to improve the sport at all levels. Today, the FFB Secretary General told us that they have major plans for that money:
