Caught With A Home-Made Gun

Today in court, a teenager was remanded for a firearm offence; the cops say he tried to slip away from them in traffic. It happened at around 8:50 last night when police on motorcycle patrol spotted a suspicious young man sitting on a red beach cruiser at the corner of West and Orange Streets. When they approached him, he darted through traffic on Orange Street contrary, going against the flow of traffic.

Police still ran him down, searched him and found a home made firearm loaded with a single round tucked in his pants.

Sanchez who is from, a laborer of 13 A George Street, was charged with keeping ammunition without a gun license and riding a bicycle against the flow of traffic when he appeared today before Magistrate Emerson Banner.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was denied bail and remanded into custody until April 26.
