In last night’s news, we told you that Belize’s Former Solicitor General, Nigel Hawke had abruptly resigned from the office of the Solicitor General of Guyana. That was a report from the Guyanese News Paper, Stabroek News. But it might be fake news.  

We’ve since found a Jamaican article in which Hawke has demanded an apology from Stabroek, asserting that the article was â€œintended to create mischiefâ€￾ and had multiple errors in fact.

Another news article out of Jamaica says, that Hawke, quote, â€œ…regrets that there was some form of linkage drawn to the issues which arose on Wednesday during the appeal challenging the ruling of the High Court in the no-confidence motion cases…

“He is calling on the newspaper to issue a public apology and recant the article..â€￾

It is also reported that the Guyanese Attorney General’s Chambers has made it clear that Hawke was not involved in the filing of cases in the court of Appeal that the Stabroek Newspaper article linked him to.
