Pizza Parlor Opens, Public Space Closes
posted (February 27, 2019)
Earlier we showed you our interview with the mayor. We met him at the opening of Moe's Pizza and Pasta By The Sea this evening. It is indeed by the sea because it is built on a part of what used to be a public space, Sandlighter's Promenade. Today, the mayor and the manager said that it's for the greater good:...

George McNab, Manager
"I'd also like to thank all of the members of City Council who shared in our vision here at Moe's Pizza Pasta to really develop something that we hope will enrich the community. This is not just a restaurant for us, this is an establishment that we really believe will bring more activity back to our sea side."

Bernard Wagner- Mayor, Belize City
"I want to certainly thank Mr. Haisam Diab for sharing with us and having us partner with him, and in so doing realize together this shared vision for this area. The revitalization of this area is key and partnerships with business such as Moe's Pizza aligns flawlessly with the Belize City Council's vision to maximize on our beautiful waterfront capabilities. This project also dove tails seamlessly into our child friendly municipality, which we signed on to last year with Ministry of Local Government and UNICEF. That MOU committed this council to ensuring that when making decisions, which will shape the new Belize City, we must be inclusive, responsive and accommodative to our children. No longer will this area be ominous with poor lighting and nominal activities. I am happy, and my council is as well, to be a part of the opening of this great endeavor."

The Moe's Pizza parlors are owned by developer Haisam Diab.
