Chester Counts Cartridges; How Many Stolen Bullets Still on Streets?
posted (February 27, 2019)
In other crime news, Police are still hunting for more ammunition and weapons that were stolen in the VL Bryant Heist earlier this month. Commissioner Williams says police are doing all they can to recover the items.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Yes, I have received his response. I have further tasked Mr. Ramirez who is in charge of the Dangerous Goods Unit, to do a more extensive investigation that also involves customs. We want to be able to look at the customs entries for importation of firearms that Mr. Gallaty has done over the past year with a view to look at the patterns and see the quantities. With that we should be able to say how many firearms he had at his place and compare what we took away from him and what we have recovered after the burglary. Then we will know exactly how many firearms are left outstanding, if in fact any from the burglary that took place at his establishment."

Reporter:
"There were about 500 rounds of ammunition still outstanding is there anything that the police are actively doing to recover those items?"

Chester Williams
"Of course, to have 500 rounds of ammunition on the streets and be doing nothing would be insane of us. We continue to go after persons who we believe are involved in that burglary as well as the affiliates in a few to be able to recover those we believe are outstanding. We also believe there is one more weapon outstanding, a rifle that we are also trying to do our best to recover."

As we reported, police had found 1,000 round of ammunition last week.
