Tonight, 27 year-old Gildon Rivers and 19 year-old Delwin Lopez are at the Belize Central Prison after being taken to court for allegedly robbing La Popular Bakery in Belize City.
It happened on Monday. 2 men, one of them armed, barged into the bakery on Logwood Street, and robbed Jose Santana of $400 cash. They then targeted Mindy Cruz and stole her purse which contained $125.
Police quickly arrested and charged Rivers and Lopez, who are residents of Antelope Street Extension. They were arraigned today before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson, and they pleaded not guilty to the charges. Due to the nature of the offenses, they were denied bail, and remanded into custody until April 30th.
