posted (March 6, 2019)
On Monday's newscast, we told you about the very strange case of Tanesia Payne, the resident of Flamboyant Street who was charged with grievous harm and use of deadly means of harm. Her ex-common-law husband reported to police that she had him beaten up and then he was stabbed by 2 men. But it turns out, the elaborate tale was a false allegation.

Her ex-common-law husband, Richard Ellis, reported to police on that on February 28th, he went to Payne's house, located at 2 B Flamboyant Street. He said that while he was there, he was beaten and stabbed multiple times by two persons who came out of a room. Ellis had also reported that his mouth was covered with a piece of cloth and he heard when Payne tell his assailants to stab him and kill him and he could not escape because she had the door locked. Ellis had told the police that he was bashed on his head and he was stabbed to his face and neck with a knife.

She was taken back before Magistrate Khadeem Palmer today where they charges against her were withdrawn on instructions from the Office of the DPP. It has been concluded that Ellis made up the entire story. Payne was then allowed to go home free.
