posted (March 7, 2019)
Last month, we told you about the 3 separate cases of arson in Punta Gorda Town where residents woke up from their beds only to find their vehicles either burning or already destroyed by fire. Police have been looking for a still-unknown, serial arsonist. But while they search he or she has struck again. Last night, 2 more residents living on same street in that southern town were targeted.

The cops told us today about the vehicle and the motorcycle they found burning early this morning on Front Street:

ACP Joseph Myvette - Head, NCIB
"This morning, sometime after 4:30 a.m., police were called to Front Street in Punta Gorda where, upon arrival in front of the home of Joseph Supal, a Honda CRV vehicle was seen engulfed in flames. The front portion was damaged. Also, further down that street, in front of the home of Carmela Cacho, police also found a Meilun brand scooter on fire, and partial damaged to the house she occupies. So far, police have one person in their custody, pending investigation, and are doing certain measures in order to determine whether or not this is the person that has set those fires."

"Do investigators suspect that it is part of the ongoing strange arsons of vehicles in PG?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"Yes, we do believe so. So, we are putting all of those investigations together, even though they're being investigated separately, to see whether or not there is any connection."

Reporter
"What can you say to assure the residents of PG that you all are trying to locate this person who has now become a sort of menace in PG?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"Well, as I had said before, Punta Gorda Police have stepped up their preventative efforts, as well as other strategies."

We understand that the motorbike belongs to a police officer.
