DPP Says No Evidence On Alleged Gangster Killer
posted (March 7, 2019)
He was accused of killing a senior member of the Ghost Town Gang, but, tonight, Kevin Bodden is a free man.

Police caught the 25 year-old in September of last year after a three month manhunt and charged him for the murder - which happened in May. And then, he escaped from the cops and went on the run for another 3 weeks.

Bu he ended up back at the prison on remand for murder and his case was called up for a routine adjournment today before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson.

But things took an unexpected turn when the police prosecutor presented a directive from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions that the charges of murder, attempted murder use of deadly means of harm and escape are to be withdrawn against him.

With that, Bodden went from accused of a high profile murder to a free man was allowed leave court - and he did so wearing a broad smile. His attorney, Leeroy Banner, told court reporters that the reason the charges were withdrawn against him is that police did not have any evidence tying him to this crime.

Bodden had been accused of killing Kendis Flowers and injuring Malique Pitts.

According to police, Flowers and 2 other men were in a van on Mahogany Street when it was intercepted by a car. Flowers stepped out of the van and confronted a man who exited the car. There was an exchange of gunfire between the two and as a result, both Flowers and Pitts were shot. Flowers died on the spot.

Bodden still has one minor charge pending: He is facing a damage to property charge for damaging the wall of the Queen Street Police Station when he gave the cops the slip. He is out on bail for that offense, and he must return to court on March 19th.
