The Last Referendum Registration
posted (March 12, 2019)
If you are a voter, and you didn't re-register last year, today was the final day you could do so in time to vote in the upcoming ICJ referendum.

Since March 1st, The Elections and Boundaries Offices countrywide have been staying open up until 7 p.m. in the evenings to allow for persons to come in. They are trying to accommodate as many of those tardy voters as possible, and this evening, at 6 o'clock, when we passed by the office on Cemetery Road, we found quite a crowd cuing up to re-registered.

Some were being aided in the process by UDP Standard Bearer Dianne Finnegan. About half hour before the start of tonight's newscast, she granted us an interview discussing this final push that she and her team have been engaged in to help those persons from Lake Independence who still were interested in participating.

Here's what she told us:

So, to reiterate, if you did not re-register by today, you will not be able to vote in the upcoming ICJ referendum.

But, if you did re-register, the second phase for the issuance of ID Cards commences tomorrow.

ID cards will be issued for those electors whose application was accepted in the month of August, 2018 and subsequently approved at revision court. The issuance of ID Cards for electors for the month of July, 2018 continues.
