Blackout Bus’ Shot: 11 Year Old Grazed
posted (March 12, 2019)
If you were watching the news on Friday night - you probably know that there was a power outage on the Southside just after 7:00. Well, criminals used the cover of darkness to shoot two males in separate incidents.

The first was an 11 year old boy who came within millimeters of losing his life.

Tonight, a mother from Glynn Street is grateful that her 11 year-old son survived a shooting at the start of the holiday weekend. He was grazed behind the ear, but had the bullet been fired a few more centimeters more to the right, the child would have been critically wounded or worse.

It happened during that unannounced power outage in the Belize City which temporarily knocked us off the air on last Friday night.

At around 7 o'clock, the young man was in his yard when gunmen approached his family's yard and opened fire. He fell to the ground, and when he got up, he felt pain to the left side of his head, just behind the ear. It turns out that the bullet scraped his skin.

We approached his mother for comment today, but she declined.
