Upon arrival, they were informed that the proprietor, 1 Elder Peredez, received gunshot injuries, and was transported the Western Regional Hospital. Our investigation so far has shown that 2 Creole descent male persons wearing black shirts were socializing at the establishment, shortly around midday, both person approached Paredez, where one of them pulled out a firearm and fired a shot toward his direction which caught him in the stomach. He was robbed of his licensed 9mm pistol. At the time also, a delivery truck was at the establishment. Both assailants then proceeded to the delivery truck, where they attempted to open a deposit box that was attached to the delivery truck."

Reporter
"Were they successful?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"They were not and they then got on a motorcycle and left the area."

Reporter
"Is it then believed that these 2 individuals may have been casing Chino's establishment prior to them going there and socializing, knowing that the delivery truck would have been there with an undisclosed amount of cash? Or is it the investigators' belief that they were simply there for the firearm?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"Those instances you mentioned, all those are being looked at."

Reporter
"Sir, are there any surveillance footage at the establishment which may have picked up the identity of those 2 suspects?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"The issue with that is that the suspects then took the DVR from the establishment before leaving."

Paredez is in a stable condition at the Western Regional Hospital. Since the assailants stole the video recording of the bar's surveillance cameras, investigators are reviewing footage captured by surveillance cameras in the area in the hopes of determining their identity.
