Tonight, police are puzzling over the discovery of a human skull in a field between Los Lagos and Bacab - off he Northern Highway.  

It was found this afternoon when some Bacab workers were clearing an area after a bushfire.  The skull was on †he ground and was not buried.  

Not much about it is known tonight - but the police scenes of crime team have taken it for a post mortem to be conducted on Monday.  That  may reveal some clues on whether it is a male or female skull and how long ago it was deposited there.  No other body parts were found.
