A man got off a murder charge today. Verris Ventura was facing a murder charge in relation to the May 2018 killing of Jason Sutherland.

Well, Ventura got off that murder charge when he appeared today before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts Anderson. She told him that the charge against him has been withdrawn on a directive from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution due to insufficient evidence.

Sutherland was shot and killed inside his yard. Reports are that the gunman went to Sutherland pretending to buy weed from him. When Sutherland got the marijuana, the gunman took out his firearm and shot him several times in his abdomen and back.

Ventura was not represented in court today.
