More Charges For Foster’s Alleged Killer
posted (March 20, 2019)

Last year, it made headline news when Richard Foster, the 74 year-old British filmmaker who made Belize his home, was found dead in the Rivera Area of Belmopan. Well, 27 year-old Derwin Jones, one of the men charged with his murder, is now facing additional charges for that crime.

Jones was arraigned yesterday before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson on the charge of aggravated burglary for allegedly breaking into Foster’s Savanah Guest House, which is located at mile 29 on the George Price Highway. He pleaded not guilty, and was remanded until May 21st, the same date that was given to Benyati Brandon and others who were charged with the same offense. Among the items stolen from Foster at the time of his killing included a 12 gauge pump action shotgun, and a 9 millimeter pistol.

As we reported back in August, Foster went missing from his home which had been ransacked.  Later that same night, police found Foster's body in the Rivera area of Belmopan with multiple stab wounds to his body and injuries to his head. His vehicle was found abandoned in Mahogany Heights.

The other persons who were jointly charged along with Jones for Foster’s murder were 26 year old Andrew Clarke, and 22 year old Edmond Pascascio.
