Police say Toledo resident Luis Cabrera Jr’s killing is not the clear cut case of murder that his family feels it to be.  Police are still gathering information and evidence to close this case. In the meantime, the alleged main suspect, Alexander Ruiz is out on bail for traffic offenses which caused he death of his friend - reportedly as they fled the scene. Here’s what police had to say at today’s press briefing.

"The investigators have to establish certain procedures which they are doing."
Reporter
"And sir are there any concerns that Ruiz may leave the country since he out on bail?"
ACP Joseph Myvette
"I am not sure of the conditions of his bail at this point in time but yes the matter is still being investigated."
Reporter
"Are you guys confident you will see charges brought against this man?"
ACP Joseph Myvette
"Well we are not saying that, that depends on the outcome of the investigation."
Reporter
"Despite the fact that there are witnesses there is still nothing police can do to hold him?"
ACP Joseph Myvette
"There are witnesses but certain testimonies need to reduce in writing, yes there are witnesses but that does not mean that the investigation would have it take its course for that to happen."
The family has witnesses who say they saw when Cabrera’s throat was cut. Â
