The sport of Cricket was popular in Belize from at least the 1930's - but it has never enjoyed the mainstream success of, say, football and basketball, or even softball.  

But now the local association has a new executive, and they've called in the International Cricket Council to help them add some structure and science to grow the sport in Belize.  The council is like the FIFA of cricket - the sport's global governing body and the regional representative is in country to offer assistance for player development, capacity building and even guidance on finances.  Fara Gorsi told us more today:

The International Cricket Council has 105 countries as members, 16 of them in the America's including Belize.
