Taking On Turneffe

Several months ago, we featured the conservation organization on our newscast that is known as The Turneffe Atoll Sustainability Association, or TASA for short. Valdemar Andrade, the executive director, was discussing why they have a strict policy against gill net fishing in their marine reserve.

During that time, the Director expressed interest in taking us along with them into the reserve, so that we could see first hand the hard work they do to keep Turneffe as environmentally sound as possible. Well, this weekend, TASA was finally ready for the press to join them on their patrols to police the marine reserve from illegal fishing practices. 7News embedded with them for 2 days, and in tomorrow's newscast, we'll have that full story for you.
