Police Make Contraband Bust in San Victor, Smugglers' Paradise

San Victor Village in the Corozal District is one of the top contraband hotspots in the country, and that was proven today in an early morning raid when police conducted a major operation and came up with a huge bust of beers and soda's.  

Between 5:00 and 7:30 am, Corozal and Orange Walk police searched a residence and found 128 cases of Suprerior, Tecate and Dos Equis beers, along with two cases of large coke, and a 15 horsepower outboard motor.   In the search of an abandoned home, they found a 16 gauge shotgun and 16 guage  cartridges.  

One well known smuggler is detained pending investigation for uncustomed goods, whilst the shotgun and cartridges were labeled as found property.

The goods have been valued at $15,700 dollars and the alleged smugglers has indicated that he wants to settle matter out of court for a substantial fine.
