Machete Mayhem, Another Village Chopping
posted (April 1, 2019)
Earlier we told you about a fatal chopping. Well, there was also a non-fatal one, but the victim is critical. It happened in Franks Eddy Village off the Western Highway. Police say the attacker became the victim as he too was chopped.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
"Belmopan police responded to information of a chopping incident in Franks Eddy Village where upon arrival, they met one George Jones who was seen with several chop wounds to the head and body . Jones reported to police that while he was at a shop at the said village, he was approached by one Randy Franco who was armed with a machete and in the process Franco inflicted several chop wounds on Jones. Jones at some point was able to disarm Franco and he in turn inflicted several chop wounds to Franco who was transported to the Western Regional Hospital in a critical condition and later to the KHMH. He has since been stabilized and will be transported today back to Western Regional Hospital where he will remain under police guard pending charges."

Jules Vasquez:
"Was alcohol a factor in this?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"Yes, it seemingly was."
