Sanjay Acquitted For Murder
posted (April 3, 2019)

A man was acquitted of murder today. Forty year old undertaker Sanjay Pilgrim, who was charged with the murder of 45 year old Carrington Bodden was acquitted today by Justice Colin Williams in a trial without jury.

Justice Williams ruled that 3 confession statements Pilgrim gave to the police were not admissible as evidence and with that the Crown, represented by Senior Crown Counsel Shanice Lovell, closed its case.  Justice Williams said that he was not persuaded that any of the confessions were given voluntarily.

After the Crown offered no further evidence, Pilgrim's attorney, Stevanni Duncan, submitted that he did not have a case to answer to and Justice Williams agreed.

The deceased, Bodden, who resided at the corner of Freetown Road and Kelly Street, was fatally stabbed on the left side of his chest in 2015 during a "get together" on Father's Day.
