Did Marcus Frazier Foresee His Murder
posted (April 4, 2019)
Tonight, Belize City police are keeping a close eye on the Fabers Road area after an explosion of violence yesterday left 2 men dead, and 3 others hospitalized in 3 separate incidents, which all occurred within a half-a-mile radius, and within 5 hours.

Police believe at this time, that none of the incidents directly connected to each other, but they do believe that the underlying cause is an ongoing dispute between 2 rival groups of young men living along the Fabers Road.

We start first with the killing of 24 year-old Marcus Fraizer. Yesterday, he ended up getting fatally stabbed after he and his companion, 22 year-old Kyle Saunders, allegedly attempted to jump a rival at the Tan Liang Chinese Shop. Reports are that he and Saunders spotted a man with whom they had a prior disagreement. They allegedly left the shop, but returned with a piece of cement block, and broken pint bottle.

Police investigation suggests that they attacked first, and this man was forced to defend himself with a switch blade. He stabbed both Saunders and Frazier, but Fraizer's injuries ended up claiming his life shortly after he was rushed to the KHMH.

At a police press briefing today, police told us that the knife wielder is claiming self-defense. Here's what they know about the incident so far:

ASP Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
"Yesterday, Wednesday, the 3rd of April 2019, just after 9 in the morning, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where they observed 2 male persons suffering from stab wounds to their bodies. The first male person was identified as Marcus Fraizer, 24 years-old, and Kyle Saunders, 22 year-old. What police gathered so far is that both male persons were at a store located on Fabers Road Extension, where they had an argument with another male person who had just arrived to purchase items at the store. As a result, two male persons who were injured, attack the person who was inside of the store, and thereafter, a fight ensued, where the person who was inside of the store inflicted stab wounds to the two persons at the hospital."

"Was he acting self defense?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"Yes, we believe that he was acting in self defense."

"So, what happens to the investigation in terms of, the other guy, Kyle Saunders, who is hospitalized."

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"At this moment, he is admitted in a stable condition. Police has interviewed him. He has given certain information, however we are following other information that we have. And as routine, we will compile a file, and that file will be sent to the DPP's Office for advice."

"We understand that it is an ongoing rivalry between 2 groups at the Faber's Road Extension, and that there was some exchange of words prior the incident happenining, that was while the suspect was arriving on his motorcycle at the shop, and other 2 guys were across the street. There, they had an exchange of words."

So, this man, who's identity we cannot reveal at this time, may be facing a murder charge, but he may go free if the DPP is convinced with the evidence provided by police that he acted in self-defense.

Notably, a friend has posted on Frazier's facebook page a private chat they shared last week in which Frazier says he was feeling his death. That was on March 25th.
