We also spoke with Wallace's youngest brother off-camera, and he told us what the family knows about his killing.
He said that Wallace stayed away from the gun violence which claimed his life last night:

"Eugene is just full of life. He is always open and willing to help anybody. He always comes with a different vibe when he comes around, full of joy. Eugene wasn't into anything much, no lot of violence. He goes from home to work, and he comes back home. The Chinese shop where the entire incident happened, it's just one of those evenings where he decided to stop off before coming home. In that case, he never did reach home."

"That location, talks to us about that hangout spot? How regularly does he frequent that area?"
Voice of: Jeffrey Robinson
"Well, it's from way back. From ever since that Chinese shop was established, there is the spot where most people just go to sit down and relax. He didn't know the crowd to interfere with people because they aren't into any kind of gang. He would just sit down, have one or 2 drinks. Right now, they are doing a little car wash there, and that's where everybody hangs out."

"Do you think that he is the victim of a shooting that was meant for someone else?"

"I believe so. He was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Actually, he had just arrived, purchased a drink from the Chinese, and sit down. He wasn't out there that long. Apparently, he was sitting down at the front. So, I don't know if he took the first shots or what. So happens, he succumbed to his injury."
