Man Beats Murder Rap
posted (April 8, 2019)
Another man got off a murder charge today in court. 22 year old Percival Pilgrim walked free after Justice Collin Williams acquitted him of the April 2015 murder of Edward Usher a.k.a Ghost. The case fell apart when the main witness, Khadejaah Barrera, testified and said that she signed a piece of paper but she did not read it and the statement she allegedly gave to the police was not admitted as evidence. Without her testimony and the non admission of the statement, the Crown did not have any other evidence to rely on and it closed its case. Pilgrim's attorney Leslie Hamilton then submitted that his client did not have a case to answer to and Justice Williams upheld the submission and acquitted Pilgrim.

The 40 year old Usher was killed in broad daylight on April 11th, 2015, as he stood on his stairs in the Ghost Town area.

Caroline Cries For Her Son
Nineteen year old Winston Gabourel, a graduate of Stella Maris School, who appears to be mentally challenged, was charged with sexual assault of a girl under the age of 16 when he was brought today before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts Anderson. She explained to the accused and her mother, who was in court, that she will not take a plea because she is not sure that he understands what is taking place. She ordered a psychiatric for Gabourel and she offered him a bail of $1,500, which he met. His next court date is May 30. The incident occurred April 6. The complainant reported to the police that Gabourel touched her on her private part.

TODAY HIS MOTHER MADE AN APPEAL FOR HIS FREEDOM:

AS WE SAID, despite her tearful plea, Gabourel was detained on Saturday and charged today.
