Watchman Killed In Hit and Run
posted (April 23, 2019)
And while baby Jose Jr. is expected to fully recover - three families are still grieving after the long weekend because their loved ones were killed in traffic fatalities.

The first case happened on Saturday night near La Democracia on the George Price Highway. Around 7:30, watchman Andruse Choc was fatally knocked down by a hit and run driver.

His sister told us more:

Adeliya Choc, Sister
"Well my other brother explained to us that he was in the working area. He was patrolling the yard where he was securing it by Democracia. And he never noticed when he came outside and right there it happened. My brother the one that died he told the other brother to sleep. That he doesn't have to worry about nothing. He said, 'You can go ahead and sleep. I will patrol the area and then I will wake you up.' But all of a sudden that happened. Then my brother heard all the vehicles blowing. So, he just got surprised and he woke up. He said, 'Andrew, Andrew, what happened?' When he saw that no one was with him. When he came to the road side then my brother was knocked down."

"He was in the middle of the road, I understand."

Adeliya Choc, Sister
"Yes, he was a the middle of the road."

Courtney Weatherburne
"So your other brother, he works along, both of them work together as security guards?"

Adeliya Choc, Sister
"No, he told my brother to take over for two nights for him. He told him that he was supposed to go visit his wife at San Pedro. But he didn't make it."

Courtney Weatherburne
"Were they hanging out and drinking?"

Adeliya Choc, Sister
"I don't know. I have no idea about that. My brother told me they were drinking but they were not drunk. They were not drunk because when they left home that same evening they were good. For the family we are very sad because we don't know who did it and we are asking maybe somebody saw or somebody knows who did it but I want if they can cooperate so we can get to know who did this. I know it is very sad for the family."

Choc leaves behind 5 kids. IF you have any information relating to this case, you can call the family at 661-6503.
