Survived a Shot To Head
posted (April 30, 2019)
In January, 15 year old Roaring Creek resident Jahmeel Reyes survived one of the most ruthless acts. He was shot in the head, badly beaten and buried alive. He crawled out of his grave and went for help. Well since then his family had been organizing fun raising events to pay for the surgery to remove the bullet from his head. Well, they raised the money and doctors operated on him a couple weeks ago. Reyes is at home recovering now. We spoke to his aunt yesterday and she says it can only be a miracle or divine intervention that Reyes is still with them.

Deshawn Card, Aunt
"Everyone knew about Jahmeel Reyes' case. The family managed to do the fundraising with a lot of help and about 15 days ago Jahmeel did his surgery. All went well, the bullet was removed. He is here at home recovering. Since you guys are here I'd like to say thanks to every single person that did what they had to do to get the surgery going. We are waiting to see, because he is still in recovery. we are not sure, so we are still waiting and we are hoping and praying that everything is well. Praise God he walks and talk and does everything on his own. He has a nurse that comes in occasionally to make sure that his wound is healing well."

Reyes still has a long road to full recovery. No one has been charged in this case as yet.
