Cyclist and Ministerial son Wasani Castro was caught on camera during the Cross Country, being pulled by a pickup - and yesterday the Belize Cycling Federation announced that the 25 year old cyclist has been disqualified for that violation.
It's a major setback for him - because the Clear the Land rider had finished 12th overall - and was the fifth Belize to cross the line - definitely enough for bragging rights. But he now goes to the very bottom of the list as one of only two persons disqualified from the race.
With his demise, Nissan Arana now moves into 12th place.
Castro had alleged that he was getting a 7 second rub-down. The cycling Federation was not convinced.
