posted (May 2, 2019)
And police may be able to deliver the justice the Requena family is asking for sooner rather than later. Today at the press briefing, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch Joseph Myvette told us they have a person in custody. Here's more.

ACP Joseph Myvette - Head NCIB
"Also, on yesterday's date, sometime around 6:40 p.m., Dangriga police was called to an area between miles 15 and 16 on the Stann Creek Valley Road, where they observed a male Hispanic person, lying in a drain apparently motionless. He was later identified to be, Alberto Requena, 23 years of the same village. Our investigation reveals that Requena was on the way home from work, when he was approached by a male person, who inflicted stab wounds to him, causing the fatal injuries. So far, police have 1 person in custody, and we also believe that we may have recovered the knife used in the stabbing. And during course of our investigation, we believe that charges will be forthcoming either later today or by tomorrow."

While police say Requena was coming from work, the family says he did not work yesterday. We will keep following this case.
