posted (May 7, 2019)
Bryan Brown, the 42 year-old notorious George Street Figure, was found guilty in Magistrate's Court today of threatening to burn his mother alive.

She's 61 year-old Rose Jacobs, a retired teacher, and she testified before Magistrate Emerson Banner that on August 21st, 2018, she was at a funeral at the Lord Ridge Cemetery when Brown confronted her, and threatened to set her on fire. She said that Brown had a gallon bottle and a cigarette lighter in his hands when he threatened her.

In his defense, Brown testified, and denied committing the offense. He said that he couldn't have threatened his mother because he didn't even see her that day. He said that he was driving his vehicle with his 2 sons as passengers, when they broke down near the BDF camp. He told the court that he then went with his sons to purchase gasoline at a gas station, and when he was returning to his vehicle, he passed through the Lord Ridge Cemetery. He even called his sons as witnesses, and they corroborated his testimony.

But, Magistrate Banner did not accept his defense, and he found Brown guilty of the offense of using threatening words. He was fined $200 for the conviction, and he has until June 30th to pay, or he will spend 2 months in jail in default.
