The Gateway Youth Center held its annual health fair today at the Battlefield park. Students and other city residents stopped by to get a quick check up and learn more about overall wellness. Here is more from the event coordinator.

"What you see out here is our 5th annual health fair so it is something we believe we should keep on doing every year just to give a reminder to people in Belize, the students and others in the community that health is important and the different practices whether it be spiritual, mentally, physically, the whole 9 yards, the importance of it. It is not something you should practice once for the year but it is something you need to constantly do for as long as you live."

"Well out here right now we have the ministry of health dentistry department, BCVI, Voluntary Counselling and Testing Unit, We have psychologist Deshane Gutierrez, community rehab center, OCEANA and many more, we have about 13 to 15 organizations out here today. We have HIV testing, I believe we have testing for diabetes , high blood pressure and the Red Cross they do their own testing so we have various testing out here today."

The Gateway Youth Center hosts this health fair every May.
