posted (May 14, 2019)
A man was found dead on the seawall in Corozal Town - but police say no foul play is suspected. When 46 year old Alberto Lara didn't show up to his Ranchito village home last night his family started a search. They found his bike near the seawall and found that he was seen at two different restaurants up to early last night.

But, apart from his bike - they found nothing last night - until this morning. His brother Roque explains what he saw:...

Roque Normando Lara, Brother of Deceased
"At 5:15 we went and we searched all the seaside. I found him. He was face down. But because he was my brother I could have recognized him from his back. My next brother called the police and gave him the information while I stayed with the body."

"He had a lot of scratches all over his head. It seems like the waves were very rough and caused those injuries to his head. Because I saw his head hitting on the stones."

"The Doctor just informed us that he died due to drowning and the injuries that he sustained was because of the high waves that caused him to hit his head don the stones reputedly. This was confirmed to us by the police."

Roque says that Alberto was in the habit of sleeping by the sea. He was the father of two children, aged 14 and 11.
