posted (May 14, 2019)
Yesterday, we told you about Dexter Todd, the new attorney for William Danny Mason imported from Guyana. Well, with the assistance of fellow attorney Hubert Elrington he was called to the Bar today at the Belize City Supreme Court before Chief Justice Kenneth Benjamin. When it was finished, Todd told the press that he just wants justice for his client:

Dexter Todd, Danny Mason Attorney
"Some people have the misguided notion that once you are a defence counsel there are certain challenges and old tricks that you bring. I can tell you, this is not one attorney that does that. I am for fairness, to ensure that my client is given fair opportunity."

"At what point were you contacted by Mr. Mason?"

Dexter Todd, Danny Mason Attorney
"This was a few weeks ago. I've not gotten an opportunity to look at the deposition and the evidence. And I will hope to have that opportunity with there leave of the court today."

Reporter
"This is the first time in our country?"

Dexter Todd, Danny Mason Attorney
"Oh, this is the first time. And I know a lot of Belizeans. I've studied with a lot of Belizeans and they are all my good friends. It is a great opportunity to reunite."

"And I must say it was extremely smooth the process has been and I am amazed by the support of the staff here at the court."

Todd says he is involved in a number of regional cases in Barbados and advises on matters in other territories.
