Man Shot on Baymen
posted (May 20, 2019)
And while police have made arrests in this case, they have all those incidents of violence from this weekend to investigate, including the shooting of 30 year-old Ronald Michael.

On Sunday morning, at around 3:40, the cops encountered the Lovely Lane resident at the KHMH with a gunshot injury to the right arm.

They spoke to his 24 year-old common-law wife, and she told police that about 3:35 a.m., they were walking on Baymen Avenue, and when they arrived at the speed bump in front of GSCOM, a gunman emerged from a bushy lot, and shot Michael.

Here's what police told us about their investigation into this incident:

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"On Sunday 19th May Just before 4am, police visited the KHMH where they observed Ronald Michael, 30 year old Belizean of a Lovely Lane address suffering from apparent gunshot wound to the right arm. What police gather so far is that Mr. Michael was in the company of a female and whilst passing Baymen Avenue, a male person came out from a nearby yard and fired a single shot at their direction causing the injuries to him."

Reporter
"Do you have any idea as to why he was shot?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Belize City
"Police is looking for a person that Mr. Michael has mentioned about the shooter."

Reporter
"So he is cooperating with police?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"He and the other person that was along with him, police have interviewed them already. Again, it is involving two of the groups from that area."
