There was another accident involving a freightliner cargo truck on the Phillip Goldson Highway today and two men are lucky to be alive.
It happened near Carmelita Village around 3:00. A cargo truck was travelling from Orange Walk to Belize City near the Santa Martha cut off when it attempted to overtake a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck travelling in the same direction.
As it was overtaking, the cargo truck hit the back of the pickup causing both vehicles to run off the opposite side of the road.
The driver of the pickup was knocked unconscious, but regained consciousness and received no body injuries. As for the driver of the tow truck, he also managed to escape unharmed.
