A new executive for the Public Service Union was elected this weekend in Dangriga.
President Doreth Obermayer was soundly defeated by a margin of almost three to one by Gerald Henry who is the new president.
Jacqueline Willoughby is the new second Vice President, while
Trisha Perez was elected Secretary General, and Felipe Ramclam and
Philip Tate were elected councillors.
Obermayer's defeat is a consequential one - and some degree of ethnic friction has been a divisive factor in union politics.
