Cayo police busted what looks to be a human smuggling operation on Monday. At around 6:30 that evening, they stopped a Suzuki XL7 at the junction of the Valley of Peace Road and the Western Highway.
The small SUV was loaded with passengers - a total of 14 plus the driver! They found 5 men, 3 women and 7 minors inside - all undocumented Hondurans - along with a Belizean driver, a 59 year old from San Ignacio Town.
The undocumented persons have been hand dover to the Immigration Department.
