Sisters Speak Up For Alarice
posted (June 5, 2019)

And so while we have heard from police and the school - we also have written statements tonight from her two younger sisters Samiyyah Andrewin Miranda and Aisha Andrewin - both residing abroad.

Samiyyah says, quote, "She was a great teacher and most recently an excellent principal. Full of passion and ideas for how she could make things better. The biggest tragedy is that we'll never find out what could have been. As a person, my sister was outgoing, with zero pretentiousness. She had an infectious, you could even say scandalous, laugh and it's probably one of the things we'll miss the most. She's the kind of person that you want by your side if you were ever going through something difficult, which is what makes this doubly hard. Our sister also had a quick tongue, so we hope and we KNOW that she gave them a thorough piece of her mind before they took her away from us. She will be missed, not just by us but by the many people who can say she was one of their best friends. Our deepest sincerest condolences too to the families of the Antonio and Maria. Antonio was a good friend to Alarice and loving father to his children. We are so sorry for their loss. We did not know Maria but we know what it is like as family to lose one you love for absolutely no good reason."

And from Dr. Aisha Andrewin, she says, quote: "Ineffable there are simply no words to express the grief, sorrow and despair that have resulted from the brutal slaying of our sister, Alarice Andrewin! We are also shocked and horrified by what has become of our beautiful Belize.  This tragedy has cost us our not only our big sister and best friend but also, our country.  Sincerest condolences to the families of the other two victims" End quote.

Their father, Phillip Andrewin - who was at the scene yesterday today declined media requests for interviews.
