Imagine going to the Social Security Board to claim a sickness benefit - only to find that you cannot claim anything because your social contributions haven’t been paid in.

That’s what reportedly befell a Belmopan City Council employee - who has reportedly been working at the council for four years.  

But, according to Social Security - in all those years, zero contributions have been paid in.  We could not get comment form the council this evening, but we know that historically they have had some issues with making timely social security payments.
