A man was killed in an accident this morning after 4:00 on the Northern Highway. 38 year old Evan Gillett, who was driving the red Saturn SUV, and his cousin 25 year old Michael Young were heading back to Belize City after a night out at Eruption Nightclub in Ladyville.
Gillett lost control and slammed violently into the median near mile 4. It was a massive collision straight into the concrete base of the iron lamp-post. Unfortunately Young didn't survive and by all accounts, died on impact.
Gillett survived and is at the hospital undergoing treatment.
