And, keeping it on friendly foreign relations in Central America, Foreign Minister Wilfred Elrington was in Guatemala City on Wednesday for the 53rd Summit of SICA. The meeting was chaired by the outgoing President, Jimmy Morales, who, is also finishing up his term as Guatemala's President.
A government press release says that the meeting highlighted an urgent need for a regional approach to the migration issue.
Belize was also commended for the yes vote at last month's ICJ referendum.
This meeting concluded with the ceremonial handing over of the SICA Presidency Pro Tempore from Guatemala to El Salvador, which will lead SICA for the next 6 months.
