Can You Spell “Whirligig”?

The Countryside Park in Spanish Lookout was buzzing with activity for the 25th Bowen and Bowen National Spelling Bee this morning. The country's top 12 spellers battled it out, but in the end, Amir Miranda from Sacred Heart R.C School in Dangriga took the champion's title. 7News was there for the big win - here's the winning word:

As you heard, the winning word was "whirligig," it is an object that spins or whirls or has at least one part that spins or whirls.

2nd place went to Raynaleese Rivas from Louisiana Government School in the Orange Walk district and 3rd place went to Zaili Uk from Our Lady of Fatima R.C also in the Orange Walk district.
