Police are attempting to prosecute another Belize City man for allegedly being a member of a criminal gang.

He's 21 year-old Duesbury Bowen, a construction worker of 26 Rocky Road, and today, he was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford on the offense of being a member of gang. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, and he was denied bail, and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September 18th, his next court date.

According to police, they commenced an investigation against him on April 2nd, and their inquiry led them to believe that he is a member of the George Street Gang. Court reports say that police believe that the gang is comprised of several small groups including George Street, Conch Shell Bay, Antelope Street, the Gaza Next Generation, Through the Park, and "Afghanistan". The cops say that they also checked Bowen's Facebook account, which indicated that he was a member of a gang.
