Solid Plan For Solid Waste

The IDB and the government of Japan have chipped in to giver Belize half a million US dollars to, quote, "boost the country's capabilities to manage solid waste in touristic areas and rural villages."

Prime Minister Dean Barrow, and Country Representative for the IDB Dr. Cassandra Rogers today signed an agreement for a grant to improve solid waste management in Belize by promoting the reduction and recovery of municipal solid waste generation and contributing to the expansion of coverage of municipal solid waste management to rural areas.

The Government will receive the grant from the IDB through the Japan Quality Infrastructure Initiative.
