BATSUB Has Open Court Martial For Sargeant Who Killed Man
posted (June 18, 2019)
In September of 2016, a British Military Officer ran over and killed a man at a nightclub. But the 41-year-old British Sergeant, named Lee Humphreys, attached to BATSUB was never charged for the death of 43-year-old Salvadorean Jose Chinchilla Molina. Chinchilla was crushed under his wheel and died on the spot. At the time police told us, it is not a regular criminal prosecution because of the agreement with BATSUB.

Well, now, Sargeant Humphreys is facing a Court Martial - which is a military court hearing - at BATSUB headquarters in Ladyville and it is open to the public - which is a first. The part of the trial that is being being heard in Belize was in full swing today, with British Barristers calling witnesses - including local police and reviewing security video. Tomorrow, they are scheduled to go to the scene of the crime. If you are interested in attending, you can call the BATSUB Liaison Officer on +501 615 6139.
