Entrepreneurs Rising Up
posted (June 18, 2019)
The spirit of entrepreneurship isn't easy to kindle and now, a consulting group has teamed up with the Department of Youth Services to find entrepreneurial talent among single mothers between the ages of 18-28.

Samos Consulting and the Department want winning business proposals from the young mothers. One winner will be selected to qualify for startup funding, and that person will be celebrated at the Rising Entrepreneurship Gala in November.

We found out more at a joint press conference today:..

Crystal Samos, Samos Consulting
"Samos consulting really focusses on entrepreneurship. We really believe in developing our young people. We really believe in assisting and guiding young people. Because, you know, young people don't have that help and guidance to start up their business. Or most of the time, they are not really encouraged. They don't believe in themselves to do so. We are here to support them and say hey we actually believe, we're here to assist you with whatever you need. One of the projects that we do in order to fulfill our mission and vision is that we raise funds to assist the young entrepreneurs to start up their business. This year, like I mentioned we are doing our second gala but we are catering to single mothers because of all the 02:07 violence that is going on in our country."

"This year Samos consulting ,decided to partner with the youth department. They really have the same values and vision and mission as Samos consulting. They work for young people in every aspect in every field, business decisions and so forth, so I say let's join forces with someone who is doing the same 04:54 thing that we do to make this a more successful and more powerful event this year."

Renata Samuels - Department of Youth Services
"We are the central hub, every one their application can be picked up from the department, as well as they can submit applications to all our 11 centers throughout the different districts. We're also helping with the human resources, we have all our communication team on board, we're helping with performances, with emceeing and all of that different human aspect to help Crystal really get the best outcome for her gala, helping selling tickets as well as just supporting her in everything that she's doing right now, because at the Department of Youth Services, we try to provide that enabling environment for 05:43 young people to be growing and succeeding in life."

Revenue from tickets sold for the Gala will be used to fundraise towards the winner's total cash prize.

The deadline for applications is August first. As you heard, applications can be picked up at the Department of Youth Services at 55 Regent Street.
