Last night customs officers made a major 24 pound weed bust in Orange Walk. Commissioner Williams told us more.

"Last night, members of Customs were conducting a checkpoint somewhere in the Orange Walk District and they intercepted a pickup truck. And a search of that vehicle yielded ten parcels of suspected cannabis. The Orange Walk police were called to the location where the Customs handed over to the police the individual, the vehicle along with the suspected drugs. The drugs was weighed and I think it amounted to eleven thousand grams. So the persons concerned are presently in police custody and they will be charged for drug trafficking with respect to that matter."
