posted (June 21, 2019)
She's accused of attacking a fellow immigration officer 3 months ago, but today, 46 year-old Anne Smith, a Grade 1 Immigration Officer was arraigned on common-assault when she was taken to the Magistrate's Court today.

The incident allegedly happened on March 10th, 2019. Smith was traveling in an Immigration van, which was being driven by Kurt Burgess. Sheree Flowers, the woman who's accusing her, was seated behind the driver. Flores was about to get out of the van, when the two women allegedly got into an argument over the positioning of Smith's purse and jacket, which was on the seat.

That argument escalated when the two women ended up in some sort of scuffle. Smith alleges that Flores jumped on top her, began punching her, and scratched her in the face. Smith claims that the struggle carried on until the driver of the van intervened and parted them.

Smith reportedly exited the van, went home, and then made her way to the police station, where she reported the incident and requested court action. Several days later, Flores was later arrested and charged with assault, and she was was arraigned.

And now, she's also pressing charges against Smith, who was arraigned in front of Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer this morning. Smith pleaded not guilty and was released on bail of $600. Her case was adjourned until July 29th, 2019. Chief Magistrate Frazer has transferred Flores' case to her court room, and she intends to hear both matters, since they are directly related.
