Another (Suspected) Drug Plane Destroyed
posted (June 24, 2019)
In other news out of the north, another plane was found completely destroyed by fire after it made an illicit landing in the Orange Walk District.

This one was found near Blue Creek Village, and though police are hesitant to say so without proof, it appears to have been carrying illicit cargo, most-likely drugs.

Here's what comments the Head of the National Criminal Investigations Branch had to say about this incident:

ACP Joseph Myvett
"Sometime around eight-thirty a.m. on the nineteenth of June, Orange Walk police were called to an area west of Blue Creek, known as the Pioneros area, where on the side of a feeder road they observed the burnt remains of a single engine, white and maroon in color aircraft. The entire area was canvassed and no other items were found. This is an ongoing investigation being conducted in that area by the police."

Reporter
"I know you can't confirm, but do you all suspect that this plane was used for any sort of illicit activity?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"Well, that is also being looked at based on some of the leads that we are following."
